Sulala brings together six completed sculptures with interpretation and films in Arabic and English. We welcome hosting enquiries from museums and cultural institutions in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.

Busts 75–91 cm high and 55–60 cm in diameter, excluding bases; indoor or outdoor presentation. The programme comprises an opening visit by the artist and a workshop visit, which can run over several days, with workshops and a public conversation.
Dimensions exclude display bases. The venue-specific technical schedule is confirmed with the studio before a loan agreement.
What the exhibition brings
Six larger-than-life family portraits, historical films, archival footage, and interpretive texts follow a century from Smyrna to Athens to New York. Arabic is the exhibition’s principal interpretive language; the seven films, this website, and the downloadable introduction are also available in English.
Visitors can move around the portraits, follow the family’s history through the accompanying texts, and watch the introduction, five portrait films and the making film. The sculpture arrangement and film-viewing area are planned together for each venue.
Space and layout
The six busts measure 75–91 cm in height and 55–60 cm in diameter, excluding display bases. The layout combines views around each sculpture, accessible circulation, interpretive texts and a film-viewing area. Share a floor plan and photographs to discuss an arrangement suited to your venue.

Heights and widths exclude display bases. The diameter is each bust’s maximum width, so width and depth both fall within it. Each bust weighs approximately 25 kg, and the proposed plinth height is 110 cm for all six. The venue technical schedule is confirmed with the studio before the loan agreement.
Installation and film presentation
Installation planning covers bases and mounting, object weights and floor loading, handling access, lighting and audiovisual equipment. The studio and venue confirm the object and handling schedule before agreeing the loan.

The seven films and their runtimes: Introduction 1:39; Grandmother 1:05; Mother 1:00; Father 0:32; Self-portrait 1:43; Daughter 0:39; Making the work 1:34 (8 minutes 12 seconds in total). Each film exists in separate Arabic and English versions, published on YouTube. Screening files, display format and subtitle availability are confirmed with the studio for each venue.
Transport and responsibilities
The exhibition agreement sets out packing, transport, customs, insurance, installation and deinstallation, together with the responsibilities and costs assigned to each party.
Materials and support
Arabic and English texts and films are prepared. The bilingual exhibition brief, portrait pages and captioned web images are available here. Artist visits, talks, education programmes and print-resolution image requests can be discussed with the studio.

Hosting terms
Hosting is subject to agreement on dates, the public programme, installation requirements and budget.
Minimum four months · minimum 100 m² · indoors or outdoors
The four-month minimum allows the opening visit and the separate workshop visit both to fall within the run.
